Terms

Terms & Conditions

These terms govern the cleaning services provided by Upkeep Standard. We have kept them plain so there is little to misread.

Last updated: June 2026

01

Scope of services

Upkeep Standard provides residential cleaning by appointment — biweekly, monthly, or as agreed in your quote. The scope of each visit is defined by the accepted quote and may be adjusted in writing by mutual agreement.
02

Booking & cancellation

Appointments are scheduled in advance and confirmed by email. Cancellations or rescheduling requests should be made at least twenty-four hours before the scheduled start. Late cancellations or lockouts may be billed at a portion of the visit rate to cover the reserved labor.
03

Pricing, invoices & payment

Pricing follows the figures in your accepted quote. After each visit, a secure payment link is sent by email and is due upon receipt unless otherwise agreed. Recurring rates may be revised from time to time with written notice in advance.
04

Access to the home

You agree to provide reliable access on the agreed day — by key, code, smart lock, or personal presence. We treat keys and codes with care and never share them outside our team.
05

Client responsibilities

Please secure cash, jewelry, and irreplaceable items before each visit, and disclose any hazards, fragile finishes, or items that should not be touched. We will note these in your client file and honor them on every visit.
06

Liability & insurance

We carry general liability coverage. In the unlikely event of accidental damage, please notify us within twenty-four hours with photographs so we can review and respond. Our liability is limited to the cost of repair or reasonable replacement value.
07

Right to refuse or end service

We reserve the right to decline or discontinue service in circumstances that compromise safety, dignity, or the integrity of the work — including unsafe conditions or repeated late payment. We will give reasonable notice where possible.
08

What we do not clean

To protect our team and your home, certain conditions and items are outside the scope of every visit. We will not clean, handle, or work around:
  • Biohazards and bodily fluids — blood, vomit, urine, feces, or other human or animal waste.
  • Mold — visible mold growth of any kind requires a licensed remediation specialist.
  • Pest infestations — active rodent, insect, or other infestations must be resolved by a pest professional before we return.
  • Hazardous materials — needles, chemicals, asbestos, lead dust, or other toxic substances.
  • Physically unsafe areas — damaged homes, unstable structures, fragile flooring, delicate antique furniture, or anything we judge unsafe to reach or support our weight and equipment.
  • Televisions and screens — under no circumstance do we wipe, dust, or otherwise care for televisions, monitors, or other display screens. Please clean these yourself with the appropriate materials.

If any of the above is encountered during a visit, we will pause work in that area, document the condition, and notify you. The remainder of the visit will continue as scheduled where it is safe to do so.

09

Photography & privacy

To protect both your home and our team, our cleaners take brief before-and-after photos at each visit. These photos document the condition of a space on arrival and at departure — so any pre-existing damage is on record — and confirm the quality of the work completed.
  • Photos are limited to surfaces, rooms, and the work itself. They will never include people, pets, or personally identifiable information — no faces, no documents, no mail, and no screens showing personal content.
  • Selected after-photos may be used in our own portfolio or marketing to showcase quality of work. Nothing that could identify the home or its occupants is ever shown.

Client information. We do not sell, rent, or share client information — names, addresses, phone numbers, or email addresses — with anyone outside our business operations. Your information is used solely to schedule visits, send quotes and invoices, and communicate about your service.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page with the date above. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the current terms.

Satisfaction Policy

A walkthrough at the close of every visit.

Quality is confirmed at the door, not days later. At the end of each appointment, a brief walkthrough with the cleaner is required so that anything overlooked can be set right on the spot.

i

The walkthrough is required

If you are unavailable for the end-of-visit walkthrough, or decline to take part, you waive your right to a reclean, a partial refund, or a full refund for that visit. We will of course continue to take note of any concerns for future visits.
ii

A twenty-four hour window

All satisfaction requests must be submitted within twenty-four hours of the appointment. Requests made beyond that window are eligible only for credit toward a future cleaning.
iii

How we make it right — in order

When a concern is raised within the window above, we work through the following steps in sequence:
  1. 1.

    Reclean

We return to address the area or areas in question, at no additional charge.

  2. 2.

    Credit toward a future cleaning

If a reclean is not practical or not wanted, we issue a credit applied to your next visit.

  3. 3.

    Discounted rate on the visit

Where neither of the above resolves the matter, we offer a discount on the visit. The discount will not exceed the labor hours of the cleaner for that appointment.
